I thought Catholic doctrine moved away from the belief in hell and the devil are real, tangible entities. It gets even weirder when asked if he's seen evidence of the devil's work lately...
"You know, it is curious," Scalia answered. "In the Gospels, the devil is doing all sorts of things. He’s making pigs run off cliffs, he’s possessing people and whatnot. And that doesn’t happen very much anymore. ... It’s because he’s smart."
Folks, this guy sits on the highest court of the US.
