Anti depressant drugs and suicide

I used to take cefuroxime for anxiety and depression and I had suicide on my mind until I came off of it. Why is this? Other medicines like chantix do the same thing. The closest thing to an explantation I have is that it causes you to reason out that thats the only ultimate solution to your problem. Its like suicide is the reasonable thing to do.
