I think this is the wrong approach (monumentally stupid actually):
Has anyone here actually stepped off a curb into the street while looking at their phone and not realized it? I do not want to pay for your stupidity. We do that enough ways already!
First we want laws against texting and walking (somewhere in the US, I forget where), and now we're moving streetlights to the ground?
Even blind people manage to not get run over for gawdsake! What a waste of money. I am so sick of catering to stupid people like this.
Can't they just make an app that senses intersections and electrocutes you? Are people going to start suing Apple because their phone made them step into the street?
For some reason this one just pisses me off, and it's not even in my country (yet).
The stupid hurts! But then, what do you think? :)

http://ift.tt/1ROcj9O Traffic lights at street level are being planned for Sydney, in order to save the lives of people too busy on their phones to look up while crossing the road The New South Wales state government is looking to trial ground level traffic lights in the city, and perhaps install more if these are successful. The initiative, which costs A$250,000(£125,244) will be trialed for six months in five places in the city's business district. |
