Could someone please explain the "Corbyn Problem" to me?

From what I've read about his policy positions, he sounds like a good Labor leader. But they're trying to hand Brexit on him and push him out. I remember when he put his hat in the ring to begin with people were trashing him as "unelectable", etc. Then he won with well over 50% of the vote. Now this mess with mass resignations, just to try to get rid of him.

Sounds in some ways like the US Democrats and their dogged determination to marginalize/bury Bernie Sanders.

Could one or more of our Brit members give the "Cliff's Notes" version of the controversy?
