Over Half the Student Body of One Colorado High School Facing Felony Charges
The official word is that they could charge everyone involved with a felony, but are being rather evasive regarding their intent to actually do so. Given other jurisdictions have not hesitated to brand teens as sex offenders for taking nude photos of themselves, I think it may only be the risk of a potential backlash on a biblical scale that is preventing them from just flatly doing so in this instance.
This kind of over-the-top ludicrous witch-hunter crap makes the War on Drugs look positively rational and well-managed by comparison. Teens are not children, they're going to be interested in sex, and they're going to have sex, and in this day and age they're going to use technology in sexual ways, despite what all the religious nutjobs and reactionary conservatives want to think.
