Last night, a security guard confronted two people outside the physics department at the University of Oslo. The men opened fire on him, firing 4-5 shots and hitting him twice in the chest.
Luckily, the man was wearing a knife proof vest that saved him from serious injury.
The security guard immediately called the police, and when they arrived at the scene they found a bomb-like object in the vicinity.
The newspapers hailed the security guard as a hero, reporting that this is the third attempt at his life in three years. That's pretty impressive for peaceful Norway.
However, today the whole incident took an interesting turn.
The bomb turned out to be something that was made to look like a bomb, but had no actual explosives.
And the security guard has been arrested for giving false testimony, and has admitted to both shooting himself and for placing the fake bomb.
:boggled:
What a perfect example of the Hero Syndrome.
