A problem with "states rights" versions of marijuana legalization

Yeah, it's Daily Kos, so there may be more to the story than we know. However, a woman getting arrested in this manner (using a comment from her kid responding to an officer involved in the D.A.R.E. program!) in one state for something that is legal on the other side of the border (just a few miles away) sort of presents a problem. In one state, you've got legalization... yet just over the border, you've got overzealous cops.

Let's face it, unless all our states go to closed borders with all the other states, the culture isn't exactly going to be different between one and the other the second you cross the line on the map. Obviously, there's going to be an accessibility/enforcement issue -- unless you want to use an innocent comment from an 11-year-old to frame his mother for possession to get more funding for your department, of course.
