Has the Right ever been right?

Concerning social issues and in the long term.



At least since the founding of the country haven't conservatives been consistently on the losing side of history? There are periods when conservative views do hold sway but it always seems that eventually they lose out.



Is there any social issue where conservatives have won out over liberals? I'm sure there has to be, but I can't think of one.
