This came up on the radio the other day, when a DJ asked a rhetorical question that I've thought of before as well but didn't have anybody nearby who knew anything about the subject to ask.
Why is insider trading illegal? What's the big deal? If I'm a company, and I get information that something is going to happen that could cost me millions, why shouldn't I act on the information? Why should I be forced by law to take the hit?
