would brining a turkey be bad for someone trying to cut back on salt?

Good morning.

I have been brining my turkeys ever since I took an online cooking class frrom Cooks Illustrated. They always come out moist and flavorful. This year my friends have presented me with a 24lbs turkey. Something I would normally avoid, (better to do two 12 lbs) but that's what they were given. more of a reason to brine if you ask me. Anyway to make a long story unbearable, my friend just realized she has high blood pressure. Shocker there with the smoking and the massive amounts of salt she consumes. Slugs roll over and melt if they get within 100 feet of her. So this year she says "no brining this year because it will add salt." My turkeys never taste salty.

So my question is does a wet brine add a significant amount of salt to the bird that would be bad for someone who just a day ago decided to cut back on salt? (although she will be smoking all day)
