Photography in Melbourne, Australia

I'll be in Melbourne December 1st through mid/late January, as part of my slow-traveling, minimal, nomad (aka hobo) tour. I'm a professional photographer, and planning to:

1) hold free and paid photography workshops in Melbourne, and

2) photograph (and possibly shoot short video pieces) interesting people/places there

I've led workshops in Chicago, where I'm from, and would love to teach a few in Melbourne. If anyone is potentially interested in taking a workshop, please email or PM me. Also, looking for suggestions on where to list or advertise this (I've never been to Australia and don't know much about Melbourne.

If anyone has suggestions of interesting people/places to photograph, I'd appreciate suggestions. Especially looking for offbeat, under-the-radar subjects rather than ones that are already photographed or otherwise covered a lot.

Here's an example of a past self-assigned project I've been working on for a couple years; improv musicians. There's a music scene thriving mostly in Chicago, Amsterdam, and Berlin (but other places as well) made up of musicians improvising creative, inventive music (sometimes jazz, sometimes not so much; often ambitious).

Many of the performances and recordings by these musicians are critically-acclaimed, but the scene is much less covered than say, the indie rock scene, or even more mainstream jazz. These days, with the popularity and accessibility of digital photography, their are swarms of photographers at rock shows, and certain people/places/events that get photographed over and over again. I'm interested in photographing things that aren't being shot by other folks.

Thanks!
