Presentation Summary:
The Onondaga Lake Visitors Center gives the community a chance to experience and learn about the lake cleanup firsthand. The center was designed and built by Honeywell to provide public access to the significant work taking place by hundreds of scientists, engineers, and skilled craft laborers from this region.
Presenter Bio:
John McAuliffe is Honeywell's Syracuse program director with responsibility for Honeywell activities being conducted on Onondaga Lake and associated sites, and former Allied Signal properties. Special interests include environmental stewardship, sustained energy and green remediation. McAuliffe is a lifelong resident of Central New York with more than 30 years of experience in environmental remediation and construction. He has worked for Honeywell for more than eleven years. He is a Registered Professional Engineer who earned his bachelors degree in civil engineering and masters degree in environmental engineering from Clarkson University.
Central New York Skeptics (CNY Skeptics) is a community organization dedicated to the promotion of science and reason, the investigation of paranormal and fringe-science claims, and the improvement of standards for science education and critical-thinking skills.
