Man Tortured By Doctors After Appearing To Clench His Buttocks At A Traffic Stop

From the front line on America's War On Drugs, via Reason:

Quote:

The incident began January 2, 2013 after David Eckert finished shopping at the Wal-Mart in Deming. According to a federal lawsuit, Eckert didn't make a complete stop at a stop sign coming out of the parking lot and was immediately stopped by law enforcement.

Eckert's attorney, Shannon Kennedy, said in an interview with KOB that after law enforcement asked him to step out of the vehicle, he appeared to be clenching his buttocks. Law enforcement thought that was probable cause to suspect that Eckert was hiding narcotics in his anal cavity. While officers detained Eckert, they secured a search warrant from a judge that allowed for an anal cavity search.

From there it gets much, much worse. The cops took him to the nearest emergency room, where a doctor refused to perform the search. So the cops took him to a different hospital, in a different county, where without Eckert's consent he was:

X-rayed.

Had his anus probed by doctor's fingers. Twice.

Given an enema, and forced to defecate in front of doctors and police. Three times.

Sedated and subjected to a colonoscopy.

Guess what the doctors found? :talk034:ING NOTHING.

Eckert is suing the police department, the hospital, and two doctors. It's really a shame he's not suing the judge who issued the warrant as well.

Another fine victory in the War On Drugs.
