Our President, in a time when the nation could use some calming and healing words in order to quell racial violence resulting from the Zimmerman verdict, had this to say today:
Hey Mister President, the case has been decided already, maybe you missed it.
Then you have Jesse Jackson and Sharpton shooting off their mouths. The President, in his words today, basically sends out the signal that he agrees with them, more or less. That's how I take it. I mean, if he actually had the gall to say this stuff today, how much did he hold back?
In addition, every moment that he and Holder pretend (I hope they are pretending) to be contemplating a civil rights case, it fans the flames a little more.
This is irresponsible and disgusting behavior for a president.
Our President, in a time when the nation could use some calming and healing words in order to quell racial violence resulting from the Zimmerman verdict, had this to say today:
Quote:
"If a white male teen would have been involved in this scenario," he said, "both the outcome and the aftermath might have been different." ... "Trayvon Martin could have been me 35 years ago." ... There are very few African-American men in this country who havent had the experience of being followed when they are shopping at a department store. And that includes me. ... "If Trayvon Martin was of age and was armed, could he have stood his ground on that sidewalk?" Obama asked. "If the answer to that question is at least ambiguous, then it seems to me that we should examine those laws." (What the hell does that even mean?) ... "We have to be vigilant and we have to work on these issues, and those of us in authority should be doing everything we can to encourage the better angels of our nature as opposed to using these episodes to heighten divisions" ... Obama said he wanted to "reiterate what I said on Sunday, which is there are going to be a lot of arguments about the legal issues in the case. I'll let all the legal analysts and talking heads address those issues." |
