When a star goes supernova, does it destroy the planets in its system, or just push them away ?
I ask because it seems to me like planets are extremely tough customers. I mean, according to the leading moon formation theory, Earth was hit by a Mars-sized body, and it still didn't fly apart in pieces.
So what does it take to blast one apart (even temporarily) ? Is a supernova even enough ?
