Bank repossesses wrong house, then cops attitude

I don't start a lot of threads, but this is something I feel deserves more attention.

This lady returns from a vacation to find the locks on her doors have been changed. Enters through a window, discovers that essentially all of her personal possessions are gone. Naturally, she calls the police. Their investigation reveals that it was a mistake on the part of the First National Bank of Wellston, Ohio. The intended target was the house across the street. The bank promises to make it right, but when she submits an estimate for the replacement value of her seized possessions, the bank wants to haggle on price. She says, "I'm sorry, I'm not running a yard sale here; I did not tell them to come in my house and make me an offer. They took my stuff and I want it back."

Apparently, their attitude is "We're a bank. We don't care. We don't have to."

Sure seems to be a lot of that going around these days.
