One thing a sceptic does that other don't, is ask the question "how do this compare to others?" While most would agree that racism is a significant problem in the US, how does it compare to other countries?
I can't think of a country less racist than the US. Canada perhaps, unless you count racism towards first nations. UK? Brazil perceives itself as less racist, but if you look at how many visible minorities are in government or business, it is considerably less welcoming to minorities than the US. Sweden initially appears to be less racist until you look at the unemployment numbers for Muslim immigrants. Japan and Korea have racist government policies. China are Indonesia are trying to destroy their minorities in their conquered territories Tibet and West Papua respectively.
