Jules Vernes to the moon story versus H.G. Welles to the Moon story

Jules Verne used a large cannon to get his man on the moon. The story was basically about getting there rather than what happened when he did get there.

H. G. Welles used a fictional substance called Cavourite. It was an anti gravity substance and once on the moon the astronaut met the ant like moon men.

Ok one day the two men were arguing about which to the moon story was best. Jules Verne argued that his story was more believable because of his description of how to get there was believable whereas Welles fictional substance was non existent.

Jules Vernes propellant was Gun Cotton. Gun Cotton does indeed exist.

Ok comparing the two stories I have to say Welles story was more entertaining because he described ant like space aliens. Not a believable as Vernes story but more entertaining. At least to me it is.

What do you guys think?
