Gov. Brown vetoed some of the worst proposed laws, signed versions of bills he had vetoed in previous legislative sessions and since wanna-be Governor Newsom did not remove his "Safety for All" ballot measure as requested by Assemblyman De Leon (two democratic figures with no love between them - there has been a pissing contest between the two since De Leon took over from Leland Yee as Ca. anti-gunner #1) there exists a real possibility that the competing signed-into-law bills will end up in court against SFA if it passes.
Things are about to get interesting, and as much as our local media would like to pretend everything is going according to plan, the last time this type of situation presented itself a major anti-gun ballot proposition failed miserably, and the Democratic shoo-in for governor walked away empty handed.
As with any type of law written by advocates w/o knowledge of the subject matter there are loads of that wonderful, mythical creature the media loves, the dreaded "loophole," that I predict will be the subject of a future fourth try at reducing crime through gun control when this recent load of faith based legislation fails.
In the meantime, your's truly has papers in hand and a checkbook and isn't afraid to use it. I also have property in a free state where another safe will be delivered and once again I'll remove firearms from of the state rather than sign away their possession to the state of California (current laws require that registered "AW's" be surrendered to the state at the death of the registrant, or be destroyed, or be removed from the state - they are not chattel property that a California registrant can will to their heirs - seriously.)
American citizens in the remainder of the free states won't be facing this type of nonsense, bu in states with legislatures dominated by folks with the Californian mentality they may face some version of the same nonsense.
