Americans in Canada...How Did You Get There?

On its face, it looks like moving to Canada is not easy for Americans. Canada, like many countries, maintains a point system that assigns an applicant points for education, work history, specialized work skills, languages spoken, etc. It looks pretty stringent. Apart from being assigned to a Canadian office by an American company -- and apart from investing a zillion dollars in a Canadian business as an economic migrant -- are there ways someone who doesn't earn enough points can move to Canada legally?
