Not everything can be scientifically proven, but some phenomena without enough evidence can be backed up with eyewitness testimony, anecdotical evidence etc. Like NDE's for example. There are numerous of reports of NDE's. But we may not call the research of Near Death experiences 'scientific'.
Let's call it 'quasi-science'. It's not science, because the subject is not open for scientific investigation. Yet there is 'intersubjectivity', a degree of objectivity involved. So, we can use the term 'quasi-scientific' for this area of expertise.
'Quasi science' is an area of expertise where experts can express results in a quasi-scientific way. The nature of the subject makes it impossible to get a scientific clarification of the phenomena. The phenomena can, however, have a quasi-scientific explanation.
