My computer clock is acting strangely.

I'm still on Windows XP. My clock is running wild........sometimes half an hour or more slow, sometimes only a couple of minutes. Adjusting it makes no difference: within 24 hours it will be very wrong again. Is this a symptom of something? (I've run full virus scans and malware checks.....all clean). Is there an alternative clock which I can leave on my taskbar and which will remain accurate?
