I was at a Starbucks last weekend, and two Christians were obviously having an intentionally loud conversation so as to spark interest in other coffee drinkers.
One thing one of the Christians said disturbed me.
He said "if this life is all we have, if there is no prospect for Heaven, that just sucks!!"
So basically the guy was saying that without the possibility of a an eternal reward in Heaven, the life we do have here on Earth, sucks and is worthless.
This is a concept I have heard before from other devout Christians. That this life is meaningless, if not for the possibility of Heaven.
What a sad and pathetic thing to believe, especially for someone in his middle 20s in the USA.
How do we, should we respond to such absurd concepts?
Or do we just leave them alone in their delusion, until they snap out of it naturally.
