Today there's a tube strike in London. It's the latest battle between public sector employers and employees in the attempt to make the UK a 24 hour society for little or no additional cost.

I can appreciate the arguments from both sides, London needs 24 hour services and on the face of it, the employers' offer seems fair but then again if you've taken a job safe in the knowledge that there is little or no unsociable hours work then I can understand how the workers are unhappy.
We're visiting some of Mrs Don's friends today in Central London, they're visiting from San Francisco, it should be "interesting".
