I've been on a history kick recently, the lead-up to WWI and the Russian Revolution in particular. I got to thinking, would it have been possible to prevent the Russian Revolution, given that Nicholas II was in charge? One possibility would be keeping Russia out of the war, but I'm not sure that was possible given the entangled alliances.
Any thoughts on how to keep the tsar (not necessarally Nicholas) on the throne? Give him a different wife? Make the luck of the genetic draw produce a non-hemophiliac male heir earlier? Different advisers?
