Today the UK named it's new aircraft carrier, built in Scotland...

An aircraft carrier has it's effectiveness reduced immensely if it has no planes to go on it, and they keep catching fire...

Apparently the ship won't be operational until 2020.
So, is this sort of 'naming ceremony' normally completed four years before a ship is launched or is this just letting the people of Scotland know how much taxpayer money is spent there?
And, will there actually be any planes to fly from it when it's launched?
