A Little Help With Da Vinci?

Ok, long story short, the guy who was supposed to play Leonardo Da Vinci had to drop out due to a severe family illness, & I got tapped to take over with a little more than a week before opening. I was hoping we might have some Da Vinci scholars/fans here that could help me out by pointing out little known facts about him &/or directing me to sites/books/articles/documentaries about him.

In full disclosure, (well, mostly full) The setting is several decades after his death so we are going with a plot that has him faking his death, traveling throughout Europe, The Middle East, & Asia, learning things, among which is a technique that reverses aging. (Trust me, it fits in the show.) Most of my dialogue is improv, thus my want for factual tidbits.

For "religion" I'm going with him being open to there being a god, but from his observations, doubtful. Nature seems "perfect" because its the best we can see.

Also, he will be more advanced due to his job. Think head of "Warehouse 13", so there will be "woo" but a logical (albeit made up) reason for it.

Please feel free to include "what ifs" for him assuming all of the above.
