A question for someone with some medical knowledge. (In the past I would have asked my father, but he's gotten a little too old and frail to bother about this.)
An elderly woman (70's perhaps) has had an alarming change of complexion.
I don't know her well, but she's worked at the library for many years.
In the past weeks, I've noticed that her face has a very pronounced dark green cast to it. Lighter than the skin of an avocado, but darker than most leaves. It's not subtle at all. Rather, it looks alarming.
She seems to be frail and not in particularly good health. She's thin, moves slowly, and doesn't smile much. But she's at work doing her job, answering questions.
I don't know her well enough to ask what the matter is.
What might cause this?
Is it hypochromic anemia?
I've never seen anything quite like this.
