I am thinking of changing my minor to computer information management. Good idea?

I am changing my minor from computer technology to computer information management. It appears to be a busn. degree. All the classes I have taken so far will count for graduation since they allow you to take any comp or busn. class with few set classes. For instance I wont have to take algebra or statistics. I could try working in the field and if I like it go on to get a computer science degree. Any idea if its any good. I hear that pretty much everybody that gets newly hired is in pretty much the same job. They don't look at what you have taken very much.

Other Program Requirements - (20 - 22 credits)

This program requires completion of a focus in another area.

To meet this requirement, complete additional courses numbered above 1000. To your benefit, it's best you choose those additional 100-22 credits to fulfill the requirements for an additional program completion.

Complete courses from the departments below to reach at least a total of 60 credits:

•Accounting with Business Have accounting

•Business: Marketing and Management am taking intro to business but I think it is busn course

(Except those courses prefixed CIM or BUSN or completed for General Education

•Computer Technology have six credits here might have 10 here

•Electives: Complete additional credits to reach 60 credits

So it looks like after this semester I will have 30 credits so far. Actually it isn't looking all that much better than Computer technology. I guess it is more software focused though and that might be good.
