It is fascinating, but is it common? Are there other examples of this type of shape that strikes me (as a moderately educated layman) as unnatural? If I were to see such a shape outside of a scientific explanation, I might be inclined to think creation or influence by intelligent beings. NB: I am NOT suggesting that is the case here; I am simply admitting my human flaws.
Particularly since this is airflow, the corners of the shape seem very unnatural to me.
