Errors in Books

I was recently reading an "introductory" book on a technical subject (chirality) that I consider myself knowledgeable about but not an expert. I quickly discovered three factual mistakes and/or mischaracterizations and found myself unwilling to trust the authors enough to finish. Often times, if I discover a misprint or missing word which changes the meaning of the sentence, (say a missing 'not') that's clearly indicated by the surrounding material, I'll annotate in pencil, but these were not easily explained.

My question: How many of either type of mistake will you accept/ignore and what do you do about them?
