There just seems to be a lot of this lately, judging from the number of news stories I see about it. Maybe we need a catch-all thread for stories of this nature.
Here's a new one:
West Virginia woman charged with filing false kidnap report about Middle-Eastern man
The man was arrested and briefly held in jail based on this report.
She seems to be a proud gun owner, judging from her Facebook photos. Maybe she wanted to play the heroic gun-toting mother who saved her daughter from a terrorist, and bask in that sort of attention. A hero for 2nd Amendment NRA types.
I wonder if people don't understand that when they go to the mall or some place like that, that every thing they do is probably being recorded on video. Her story fell aport when police looked at the video footage from the mall.
