Eye-Watering LinkedIn Sale

Microsoft have bought LinkedIn for a staggering $26 bn.

As Fark states:

Quote:

In other news, MS has replaced all executives and the board with robots that toss coins for decision making
LinkedIn has been in [predictable] decline in the past couple of years and I'm going to say this will be the most disastrous buy of all time, easily beating AOL's purchase of Bebo.

Vox is claiming it's a great buy
, but I'm not buying a bar of that theory - LinkedIn's usefulness as a recruiting tool has been in decline for some time and ad purchases are well down over the past twelve months. I see no reason for them to recover as recruiters have turned to newer and more effective tools.

It looks very much like MS trying to buy its way into competitiveness with Google, and much as I'd love them to succeed, I can't see it happening and the shareholders of MS have been sold a pup.
