As part of the Urban Forest Strategy the Australian city of Melbourne has created a website with a maps containing the location of all of the city's trees. It has an email link to allow people to report on the condition of a tree, report disease or vandalism, so the city can investigate and remedy any problems.
The email is via an "Email this tree" button.
And that's what people are doing; they're emailing trees about, well, life, the universe, love and everything else. Thanking the trees for providing oxygen; warning them about insects; confessing their love. And much more... Link.
