Selling stocks LIFO vs FIFO

Daughter is going off to UNC Chapel Hill in the fall.

She has some Disney stock she wants to sell to help her "dress" her dorm room and get a new computer...etc...

While attempting to sell on "Broadridge Stock Transfer Agency Service".com or .org or .net or something like that, she was asked "LIFO" or "FIFO".

First in first out
or
Last in first out

What does this mean (with respect to) stock (and not milk)?

It falls under the "Tax Election Method" of the webpage.
Is one way cheaper?
Cheaper now but more expensive in the long run?
Is one way just better?
(And any other question I might not be able to think of...)

So..uh..any help will be helpful?
