I don't know why I ever mess with anything, I just ruin it. But it's like this:
So I recently went in and edited the tag information on a bunch of my music files to correct errors and group songs I wanted together by album, etc. That all went swimmingly, no problems at all. However, when I was done, I noticed a lot of the updates were failing to display in my Windows Media Player library (although they are showing in the file info itself just fine).
I decided to just clear out my windows media player library and then re-add all the folders, in hopes that all the tag info would update accordingly. Well, now I keep re-adding the folders to the library but NOTHING is happening. WMP library is just blank, even though I've tried adding the folders back what feels like hundreds of times now. WTF? What did I do?
The files themselves are all still right where they're supposed to be, so it's not like I deleted anything by mistake. But they WILL NOT show up in Windows Media Player now. Any of them. Please, I know this is probably a stupid problem, but could someone with basic computer knowledge take a second and help a gal out?
(As is probably apparent, I do have OCD, and one of its primary manifestations regards the neatness and functionality of my massive digital music collection. But now I've messed it up with too much nitpicking. Sigh.:()
I hope this makes sense, I explained it as best I could. I'm a bit of a moron about this stuff.
