The Fate of Feminism in Pakistan

Bina Shah had a piece in yesterday's New York times about the fate of feminism in Pakistan.



Her main argument is that, to be successful, Pakistani feminism needs to merge the two main strands of feminism that exist in the world: Islamic feminism, and secular feminism (some of Margot Badran's work on those two strands of feminism, mentioned in Shah's piece, can be found here).



I found it interesting enough to want to share.
