This freaked me out.

I found this in my utensil drawer sitting right on top. No one else could have put it there since the last time I used the drawer (I live by myself). It freaked me out for a few moments as it looks just like one of those psychic spoon-bending phenomena. How could this have happened?



As a skeptic, I knew that was definitely not the explanation so I started mentally reviewing.

Several hours earlier I had gotten a fast food meal. I usually save the unused cutlery so I had unwrapped it and put it in the drawer. I remembered that I had had some difficulty in sliding the drawer shut. It was obvious to me (now) that the fork had caught on the supports above the drawer and got mangled into the work of art you see now.
