There is a new series on the History channel about people searching for the "treasure" on oak island. I knew they were wacky when they talked about having a shaft 230 feet deep on an island that is only 35' above sea level. It is astounding what people will believe. To the best of my knowledge, there never was a mysterious pit with multiple levels that was booby trapped to flood; that was just a made-up story. Yet, on the show, one guy has spent his entire life looking and another has spent millions of dollars on it.
