My wife, inspired by her sister's daily reading of the Bible, decided to tackle the Good Book and see what the fuss was all about. My wife's never been a devout Christian, but she knows some of the stories.
I am a crappy teacher of skeptical Bible reading. I've studied it, took classes on it, learned the contexts of it, and simply hate it. Not only is it the worst piece of crap "literature" I've ever had the displeasure of reading, but I can't stand apologetics and their lovey dovey excusing crap. The God of the Bible is an *******, and my bias is way out there and counter-productive to anything my wife wants to do. I'm not angry at a god, but reading that book makes me angry that Christians follow that crap.
So...are there any good skeptical books, websites, podcasts, etc. where she can get some real input about the Bible? I'm not talking about the skeptic's annotated bible, I mean real theological studies about the ******** in the Bible. She has my Oxford Annotated Bible and Catholic learning Bible, so the footnotes will help a bit. I'm just looking for the same sort of guide I had for my theology courses.
