I was driving down the road early one morning and apparently my rear taillight was out. I had a toy revolver cigarette lighter that I planned on giving my Uncle for his birthday. It was realistic but very small.
The officer had a heavy Jamaican accent and he told me in a loud commanding voice to keep my hands off that gun. You better believe I obeyed. He reached over and grabbed the lighter and looked puzzled for a moment and then he realized what it was.
He was still mad at me and told me to keep things that looked like that out of sight.
The revolver is a fairly decent reproduction of a revolver but if it was a real gun the trigger would be too small to get a finger onto and the bullets might kill a rat if you hit it right.
the botom line is keep objects that look like guns out of sight even if they are very small.
