Since several month one could have the feeling that the TTIP was terminaly ill.
Earlier this year France had already threatened to block the deal: http://ift.tt/2c4Mw1k Last week German Vice Chancellor and Minister for Economic Affair Sigmar Gabriel had publicly stated that in his view negotiation had failed (although Angela Merkel is a strong support of the agreement).
Now France announces they will formaly request that the EU Commission suspends the negotiations: http://ift.tt/2bWKItZ (sorry I could not find an English source yet).
Should this happen it is very unlikely these negotiations could resume in the future...
