I thought the best place to put this thread was here, because the main obstacle standing in the way of our acceptance, of all manner of sexual persuasions is religion - well the Abrahamic ones in the main.
We have come a long way in the West in accepting the LGBT community over the last few years. I recall in my youth how all manner of sexual deviations, from what we saw as the norm, were equally regarded with distaste. They were all lumped together somehow. A guy who exposed himself to kids was commonly regarded as a pervert and one and the same as homosexuals. Sexual deviation in women hadn't been found, (among the general community), so was not even thought about. Now here we are in 2016 and in most of our more advanced Western communities sexual diversity of all kinds is tolerated.
Tolerated, yes that's about it, and that's what I would like to see us progress beyond. I would like to see us progressing to a point where sexual diversity is viewed as wondrous perhaps. There seems to be such a large array of different variety and I think it adds color to our society.
In Thailand all manner of types of sexual variation are just accepted and embraced by the people with no apparent stigma attached. Kids come out as girl boys and boy girls at an early age and are visible everywhere. I have trouble at times establishing what gender a person is. Not that it matters.:)
