Man shoots 11 year old because she "yelled and scared him"

This guy isn't even supposed to have a gun, but somehow got one. The convicted felon ended up shooting his 11 year old daughter after she came home from school because she yelled and scared him:

Batts told police he was sleeping at the time Timea came home from her first day of school. Batts said he woke up after hearing a sound and grabbed a gun from underneath his dresser. When his daughter yelled and scared him, he fired a shot which struck the child.

I hope they figure out how the hell he got the gun, and charges come from it.
