So there's a discussion on the local PBS radio about the 17 superdelegates in WA State.
Frustrated Sanders supporters targeting Washington states superdelegates
On one side of the argument is that the sup-dels should follow the popular vote.
Countering that: the caucus votes only represent 4% of the voting Democrats. Not sure how they figured that but the other figure was 6%.
Another argument was Clinton voters stayed away because they didn't want to put up with over-zealous Sanders supporters who are rude and bash Clinton. We had one of those in my little caucus group.
Another argument was the superdelegates have benefitted from Clinton fundraising for them while Sanders has not campaigned reciprocally for WA State Democrats or superdelegates.
So I wondered, while I get it that one could say the mutual back-patting work to raise money for each other was part of the problem, Sanders joined the Democratic Party only to take advantage of the Party infrastructure.
My question is this, is Sanders then benefitting from the work and money that went into developing the Democratic Party infrastructure that he contributed very little to?
