Mind your own business Mr Obama.

There is a long running convention that British politicians don't involve themselves at all in US elections, and vice versa. So what gives Barack Obama the right to directly interfere in the British EU referendum debate? By what possible twisting of reality is our membership of the EU something which directly affects American interests? Just how hypocritical can you get, too, by expecting Britain to remain part of a club which has membership rules the USA wouldn't for a second countenance accepting itself.

I shall be watching the polls with interest to see whether this unprecedented intervention has the desired effect, or whether cussed Brits dislike being told what to do by foreigners enough to bounce "Leave" in the lead. The margins could hardly be tighter.
