It seems that Futurama may have been right about the dangers of human-robot sex. At least according to the newly launched Campaign Against Sex Robots (might be mildly NSFW). The campaign was started by "robot ethicists" professors Kathleen Richardson and Erik Billing. They claim that the (projected) proliferation of artificially intelligent sex toys will prevent humans from forming meaningful relationships with each other and reinforce the sexual objectification of women.
So what are people's thoughts on "metal fever"; good, bad, meh? Are laws needed, are they a good idea or even possible? Will there be a black market in sexbots by 2055?
