I quit smoking with e-cigarettes a few weeks ago, then weaned off nicotine while still vaping placebo e-juice (vegetable glycerin & flavorings, without the nicotine). That in itself is a surprisingly addictive activity.
I have a few science-y questions.
- A federal study found that vaping was an inefficient way to raise plasma levels of nicotine. Does anyone know why? And if it's not spiking nicotine levels, does that make it less addictive?
- How about inhaling glycerin - health problems?
- Even without smoke and nicotine, could the repetitive oral movements still give you wrinkles?
- Has anyone been exposed to vaping (first- or secondhand) and found it less offensive than "analog" cigs? More offensive?
Vaping is not marketed as a stop-smoking aid because that would invite closer regulatory scrutiny. Still, it worked a trick for me, very little willpower or cravings. I'm curious about any studies or anecdotes forum members might have.
