Hi,
i am sort of old schools, BIOS updates are kind of a last resort and do or die things. This is due to teh chances of a failure, but is mainly paranoia.
Recently however our Dell (which is the preferred brand at work) have has strange issues, like a screen resolution not staying or peripheral VGA adapters not working correctly.
Update the Intel chipset drivers and still no resolution, then run the BIOS update and BAM it works perfectly.
So apparently firmware improvements in the BIOS are getting more complex and complicated and necessary, just requires me to not worry about the power failure issue.
