I had an easy time figuring how to connect to MYSQL using JDBC (use the url "jdbc:http://mysqllocalhost", but I'm tearing my hair out trying to do the same for SQL Server (why is everything always more difficult with Microsoft products?). When I start up the SQL Server Management Tools, it allows my to connect to a "Server name" that is my user name with "-HP" appended to it. Assuming my user name is JohnDoe, I thought that I would create an url of either "jdbc:http://sqlserverJohnDoe" or "jdbc:http://sqlserverlocalhost\\JohnDoe". Neither of these work. Nor does plain, old "jdbc:http://sqlserverlocalhost". Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
